ppp trouble with 5.3-stable

That problem is solved. I had to explicitly disaable eveery possible 
compression protocil, then it worked. The strange thing ist that it workt 
before withou disabling that protocols.

This problem still exists. I have the impression that pppctl has a problem 
with shell meta characters.
