I started that thread.  The issue was caused by freetype2 having a
memory leak; that got resolved.  All my bad symptoms have disappeared.
By installing webfonts, I got my "underlining looks like overstriked"
issue in Mozilla resolved.  By updating freetype2 and installing the
last fontconfig I got my "bad font selected" in Mozilla issue
resolved.  Now I'm happy.
