gnome2-2.16.1 & evolution 2.8.1.1 instability...

Hi.
Since upgrading to gnome 2.16, evolution has been very unstable. This
occurs on two systems (notebook and desktop) since upgrading (both
FreeBSD 6.1)
Situation - boot system, log in, fire up evolution, everything runs
fine. If, however, I exit evolution, then re-launch, it sits there
hanging... the message on the message bar is "refreshing folder". This
occurs every time. If I kill all evolution processes (data-server,
exchange-storage, alarm-notify) it does not help. Only a reboot does
it...
Has anyone else noted this? Any suggestions would be most welcome.
Other than that, gnome 2.16 looks and feels great.
