how much of the hw that the fbsd targets now, even has a physical place you can insert any optical disk into?

and which doesn't have at least usb2.0 port

i proposed creating a "maxi" memstick too but i learned that memstick is wanting to go away entirely. since you can use iso on usb. not always tho, not very well

the optical disks are most of cases readonly, they could retain data well, could be pressed into permanent disk, would be allowed in high security environments where usb would be not maybe

i miss the optical use cases here, anyone give me insight?

aren't the most of installers going into usb now, for temporary, which are very fast now. very large, very cheap. they go past every known br size, while being so small you can't it out of usb port afterwards. we are seeing usual sizes getting somewhere into entire whole terabyte range now which is insanely large for a installer consisting xz packed files

i tried to ask a stupid question of are there anything with br reader you usually see yourself installing to, but didn't find anything. esp., any servers

oh and, you can make your own installer too, with contents and size as you please. which i assume wouldn't be a problem if you obviously use fbsd that much

kind of side view to that iso too small too large too small cycle

or at least we could leave dvd alone and could offer saner alternatives

or whatever?
