AFAIK the cache files are created where the fonts are (if this  
changed, it would be good to know...). The tools get's the info from  
the X server where the fonts are. This means the files are changed in  
places in the FreeBSD tree, not in LINUXBASE. If you are able to come  
up with a way to achieve what you want, I'm all ears, but when I was  
looking into the issue, I was not able to come up with something else  
than what we have currently (making a copy of all fonts into LINUXBASE  
is not really an option here).
