Question on domain validation

Dear listmembers,
I dived somewhat more into details on DV and things start getting difficult.
(sparc-linux, kernel 2.4.26, Promise Raid Array 2.4.26 (unfortunately), SMP)
On my raid array I get in /proc/scsi/aic7xxx/1:

Can any person with a deeper understaning tell me why enabling debugging and setting some debug-level suddenly ends up with an higher communication speed setting?
Can I provide some more information to simplify the understanding of what is going on here?
Moreover, regarding the dv:-setting: should this denote dv:{0} as I have only one aic7xxx - controller or should it denote dv:{.0} as I have to configure controller 1 (controller 0 being a symbios logic device). I didn't really understand this from the documentation.
