I installed the 5.1.33 driver from the modules.cpio.gz file on your
website, remade the initrd and ran /sbin/lilo. Upon reboot I got the
following:

(Lots (and lots) of stack: and trace: dumps)
Aiee, killing interrupt handler
Kernel panic: Attempted to kill the idle task!
In swapper task - not syncing

The boot process stopped there.

I'm not married to RH6.1 and would cheerfully upgrade to whichever version
will support having both 50 and 73 gig drive pairs functional. The only
reason I haven't upgraded so far is because it's been working so well
serving our Macs with Netatalk and PC's with Samba. If it ain't broken...
