Problems with Linux (kernel 2.2.18) and QLogic 2100 (qlogicfc driver) and ext2 filesystem

Hello,

I'm having an Intel system with RH 6.2 and Linux kernel 2.2.18.
I'm using a QLogic 2100 card (qlogicfc driver) to talk to a fiber optic 
RAID controller system.
The partitions exported by the controller are formatted as ext2 filesystems.

I was trying to read data from one of those filesystems and I got the 
following  messages:
