And what exactly had changed in between 11.4-PRERELEASE and 11.4-RELEASE
graphics-wise?  It always saddens me to see these "ah, you're running
prerelease version" or "sorry, support for version X.Y had ended yesterday,
please update to newer version" phrases, like it would make a difference (pro
tip: no, it won't).

Unless we're talking about some specific changes, simply switching to 11.4 or
12.1 would most likely not magically make things better all of sudden. 
radeon(4) cards, which used to work before, are currently broken in FreeBSD,
and that raises two questions: 1) what had caused the breakage, and 2) how to
fix it.  AFAIK, there are no answers for both of them ATM.

Tests I've done couple of months ago, trying various combinations of FreeBSD
13-CURRENT base and different drm-kmod drivers did not show any improvements;
that is, I was not able to get back the experience of ca. 2017-2018 where
radeon(4) cards have been working fine on FreeBSD.
