The need to do a little more then that since I looked through the sources
and saw plenty of places it assumes pre-7.3 stuff

I have had a few other odd ball things (like fetch hangs on certain
http://.... url's in the ports tree) so I am upgrading to 7.0-CURRENT from
6.2-RELEASE-p7. This is &*^&*&* madding because my old machine had the bad
idea to die right as I built (literally 5 mins before) this new one (one
reason for buying it was I knew the old machine was on the way out) and the
semester starts tomorrow and a CS student (and a ISV owner) with no
developement platform is a *BAD THING* (exspecially when I owe one from last
semester ;-) which I need open office for). Well enough ranting I like the
new machine:

E6850 3.0 GHz
P35 chipset (MSI Neon-F MB)
4 GB ram
500 GB SATA drive
Nvidia 8400 GS PCI-E (yes one of the low end components)
Some nice accessaries like my first non-lowest cost case/power supply
Price was right $950 (including tax and service plans on MB and CPU)
