Logging boot messages from the loader

Perhaps: Set up serial console on the machine in question, then
connect a machine that's expected to be "sufficiently stable" to
the other end of a "null modem" cable & run tip(1) on the second
machine (perhaps within script(1)).

Or something similar, anyway.
