Server insists on wrong hostname

Thanks for your quick answer. The DHCP server is configured to assign
the correct hostname to this server's MAC. /etc/rc.conf states the
correct hostname, /etc/rc.conf.local does not exist. Neither do
/usr/local/etc/rc.conf*.
