​Assuming you're close to 8-STABLE, I'd expect it not to be too much to
work to run newer VirtIO code. There's several changes that I still need to
MFC to 9, since it was in a freeze for the 9.3 release when I was MFC'ing
to 10. I should get that done in the next few weeks.

Due to pending EOL and my limited time, I've stopped MFC'ing new features
to 8. I'm not aware of any bugs​ in the 8-STABLE code though.
