After 7.3->8.1, moused on serial mouse draws 100% CPU

I sent an email describing similar regression on 16/1/2010 but no one 
replied.  The thing is that since moving to 8.x moused in console 
consumes way too much CPU as soon as mouse starts moving.  :-/
