Hi *

today i checked out fresh RELENG_6 on my amd64, build(world|kernel)
seems fine, installworld fails:

[...]
===> sys/boot/i386/btx (install)
===> sys/boot/i386/btx/btx (install)
===> sys/boot/i386/btx/btxldr (install)
===> sys/boot/i386/btx/lib (install)
===> sys/boot/i386/boot2 (install)
btxld -v -E 0x2000 -f bin -b
/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/boot/i386/boot2/../btx/btx/btx -l boot2.ldr  -o boot2.ld -P 1 boot2.bin
btxld:No such file or directory
*** Error code 1

Stop in /usr/src/sys/boot/i386/boot2.
*** Error code 1
[...]

I found an unanswered question about this:
http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-amd64/2004-August/001906.html

Why i386 here: "boot/i386/boot2/"?

I did the following procedure:

1) install new Dell PE2950 with amd64/6.1-RELEASE from CD (minimal)
2) cvsup /usr/src to RELENG_6 this afternoon
3) make clean buildworld buildkernel
(forgot to build it for SMP)
4) make buildkernel KERNCONF=PE2950 (which is just SMP plus ident a.t.m)
5) make installkernel KERNCONF=PE2950
6) reboot
7) make installworld --> fails.

Did I miss something here?
How to fix?

Is this amd64 specific?

Regards
Raphael Becker

PS: if this is an amd64 specific issue it might be forwarded to the
amd64 mailing list.
