Segfaults from gcc, awk and Zend; advice needed

Looks like you were right.

After setting hw.acpi.cx_lowest to C2 I was able to finally compile a  
custom kernel. After vacuuming my CPU fan and putting the ventilator  
in a better position the buildworld succeeded at the 1st pass.
