Could information like this be added somewhere, like the asr man page, or the 
handbook?  I know in my case, one of the first things I did when we determined 
that the iir driver was having problem was to check the man page at teh AUTHORs 
section ... maybe add a note to the HISTORY stating when EOL happened for the 
driver as far as the manufacturer(S) were concerned?
