Stability of RELENG_5_4 with dual Xeon

I do not know what was the default option those days. I have a working 
Dual-Athlon with these options:

options 	SCHED_4BSD
options 	SMP
device		apic

Did that machine ever work with any operating system with two CPUs enabled?
