That is true, but the current support model is new. Looking back
over the release history it's very hard to guess when 11.<final> might
happen 3 or 4 seems likely but the lifespan of a major release seems to
vary from two and a half years to nearly four.
I'm hoping for it to work out that way, but it certainly hasn't been
stated as a policy.
