A few questions about graphics chipsets

Hi,

I am writing a system configuration script for FreeBSD, for which I need
to know a few things about the major graphics chipsets and their drivers.

1) AMD - My own box is Radeon (R5 230), driven by radeon (+radeonkms).
I now see that there is a separate driver amdgpu. Is this inter-operable
with radeon. That is to say, can a user choose either one to drive X
under FreeBSD ?

2) Intel -

a) Intel chipsets are always onboard and no dedicated cards. Is that right ?

b) Do [any] Intel chipsets need any kernel modules to be loaded for full
functionality ? (Just as radeon, which needs radeonkms, and nvidia which
needs nvidia-modeset)

3) NVidia - Do nvidia cards always need system sources to be available
for installation via pkg/ports ? That I think was the behaviour earlier,
but I am not sure whether there has been a recent change in the status.

Thanks for any information
