Kernel call exit status

HI.

I’ve been futzing in assembly with some simple kernel system calls on debian and have found it near impossible to get any information on exit status codes when using eax, ebx.. and 0x80.

I found your documentation refreshing (I confess I was visiting to switch )  and was wondering if any of you know wether the  kernel places the exit status of the interrupt call  in an accessible register for the caller to pick up?
