tool for mapping away bad blocks on an external disk

Thanks for all the hints; I started last night with overwriting the full
disk with:

# dd conv=noerror if=/dev/zero of=/dev/da0 bs=1m

after 12 hours it has already done 2/3 of it:

full disk:  2930277168 * 512 = 1.500.301.910.016 bytes to write
    06:30:                     1.028.246.208.512 bytes done   (980.612 blocks of 1M)

When after the procedure the problems remain, the disk will go to the
dustbin;
