Upgrading from FreeBSD 4.1

I have to agree with the other posters. I would not attempt the upgrade. If you do, you need to go to 5, then to 6, then to 7 all the way and in some cases you would need to update the minor releases. In between all that you would have to upgrade all the packages.

Your best bet is as indicated. Setup a new system with the desired packages and works on transferring your data.
