Yes, that's the plan, as far as I know. The pkg program will be
used to install and update system components based on binary
packages, similarly to how it deals with ports. Still there will
be the clear distinction between the OS and the installed ports.
I don't know if there will be two databases (one for the OS
packages, one for the ports packages) or if both will be
recorded in the same file...
