Mozilla not rendering web pages?

For the past week or so I have seen an increasing number of web pages where
the javascript seems to not run. I get mostly text that is in linear lists
along with a few "standard" icons like empty menus. Chromium has no similar
issues.

One site that stopped working is ESPN <https://espn.go.com/>.

Does anyone have any idea what is happening?
