Saw the same thing here, also with xfce. lsof reports nothing open on
either the mountpoint or the device.
fstat blames gam_server:
% fstat /home/wblock/Desktop/removable-storage/
USER CMD PID FD MOUNT INUM MODE SZ|DV R/W NAME
