Thanks for confirmation, Boris, 'usable' and 'working OK' are good 
enough.  I installed it on my Thinkpad's new 8.0-R system so I'll give 
it a go there when $workload allows.

That sounds fine, especially as these are mostly just for procedural 
calculations and straightforward file-processing.
