Microsoft "Dynamic DNS"

I'm pretty sure DDNS is an RFC, I'm sure FBSD supports it.  WINS is different altogether.

Am not very familiar with it, but is it using WINS by any chance? No
idea on how to get it working on FreeBSD though.
