You should take a look in here if your trying to get the BCM4311 up and 
running: http://forums.freebsd.org/showthread.php?t=170&highlight=BCM

RTL 8139 seems to be fully supported on 7.1 .. just take a look 
at: /sys/dev/re/if_re.c
