problem starting X with normal user

Hmm.  My copies of those files don't quite match up.
Perhaps you should try the latest ports?  
You did, after all, have some sort of problems installing the ports,
so you may have some mismatched pieces of the X system.

You apply it with patch(1), but I think it's for a different problem.
