vim keyboard mapping problems (ssh)

Try:

:set nolist
:help 'nolist'

> vim (insert mode):
> 
> up cursor    = A + enter
> left cursor  = D + enter
> right cursor = C + enter
> down cursor  = B + enter

This is a terminal problem.  Try with different TERM values.
