upgrade named

8.3.3 is in /usr/sbin
9 went into /usr/local/sbin

modified rc.conf to point to the
new binary
named_program="/usr/local/sbin/named"

but I'm still stuck with 8.3.3

ps shows my named up and running but a
which named still points to my 8.3.3 version

doesn't make sense to me, should be working

any ideas?

Arni

We had the same issue. The named binary on our 8.3.3 set up was in
/usr/local/bin When we installed 9 that went into /usr/sbin

I suspect that you are just calling the old binary.
