FreeBSD 5.0 Cannot Mount Floppy

The floppy mounts fine under 4.8.

The floppy mounts fine if I plug an OpenBSD drive onto the system.

The motherboard is NOT Intel, it's an MSI.

I tried the 'hint.acpi.0.disable="1"' (whatever that means) addition to 
"hints" to no avail.

The system is simply not seeing the floppy.
