What trigers PPP?

Try /etc/rc.conf

the default file should be /etc/defaults/rc.conf

you should find ppp_enable ="YES" somewhere...

what you can do is in rc.conf just add:

ppp_enable="NO" to the end...That should stop it...

This is on 5.0 Current, and I don't know 4.7, so I don't know if this actually 
applies to you...Someone else may confirm this...I could be wrong.
