Anic: Page fault trying to install

I am trying to get FreeBSD installed on a AMD k6-300 with 512mb rams and a 
SIIG ide controller.  I have tried to install 4.7, 4.8 and 5.0.  No matter 
which version I have tried at some point during the install normally when 
copying files to /usr the machine hangs with an error message that says. 
 Anic: Page Fault syncing disks.  Then the machine reboots.
