Silicon Motion SMI LynxE 810 vs XFree86

Hello,
     Is anyone using the a laptop with a Silicon Motion SMI LynxE 810 / 811 SM811 controller?

I'm having loads of problems setting up XFree86 on this laptop, and would appreciate some assistance. If this is proves to negligible to list members, I am happy for someone to contact me off-list so that I can provide more information.
