It works fine here on a powermac with 5.5 GB RAM running CURRENT as of
30th November (kernel is SVN revision 216074).

It looks like something has stomped all over memory on your system --
srr1 even indicates the CPU has exited 64-bit mode. If it happens
again, could you also paste the output of 'show registers'?
