OK. libssl.so.8 is what the ports version of openssl supplies. It seems
that your mariadb55-client port has somehow not registered
security/openssl as a run-time dependency so poudriere isn't installing
that port as part of setting up the jail for building sphinxsearch. You
can investigate by using 'poudriere testport ...' with the -i flag so
you can poke around in the build jail.
If this is the problem, then the advice about using
'WITH_OPENSSL_PORT=yes' should fix it.
