hpssd is no longer used btw, it has been replaced by hp-systray that
runs as your user.

Well, did you start dbus too? :)
Or it could be that you also need qt4-dbus-4.4.3, at least I have that
installed here too (devel/dbus-qt4, probably pulled in by another
unrelated port here.)
