Please approach this with caution, as spandsp is integral to the asterisk 
port (when built without any additional flags) and, last time I tried, 
having spandsp-0.0.3(pre23) installed badly broke the asterisk port 
(specifically the rxfax/txfax part, which has been taken from an earlier 
spandsp release).
