there already was an open PR in gnats where i've contributed some stuff to.
unfortunately this one was closed due to problems by the original PR submitter.
see the Follow-Ups for details. i think someone should reopen it and get the
patches in, as i couldn't find any problems with samba-3.0.6 in any way.
