pkg_delete -f 'perl*' 'p5-*'
rm -Rf /usr/local/lib/perl5

and reinstall lang/perl5.8 may help. On the other hand, it may demolish your
system. YMMV. No guarantee included.

You may ask one of the perl guys on the list...
