portupgrade gdm2 - undefined reference to misc_conv

Hi

I am portupgrading gdm2 and have come across an undefined reference to 
misc_conv in .../gdm2/work/gdm-2.4.1.4/utils/gdmaskpass.o. I am not 
familiar with pam, so can anyone point me in the right direction to 
resolve this issue?

I am running 5.1-CURRENT (i386) as of 06/06/2003.
