That's not true, if you want to replace your HiFi gear by a computer,
you need a good sound card too, that anyway, will be less expensive than
good HiFi gear. _All_ on-board devices are crap!
But the good thing is, that the RME HDSPe AIO does work for consumer
usage on FreeBSD (TotalMix isn't supported). For audio production I
still use Linux, unfortunately there the RME HDSPe AIO isn't well
supported, so *nix users need several good audio cards :(.
I'm not willing to install Windows, but I'm not happy about the hardware
situation on *nix.
