I'm using the hda sound driver and I don't have this problem, can you send
us the output of "pkg_info -E gst\*" and your CFLAGS?

The configures script for gnome-media and totem hang part of the way through. Two copies of gst-inspect-0.10 are executing at the same time. The first always appears to take 6s of CPU time, and the second 31s.

My machine is a Dell Inspiron 1300. My theory is that it's hanging because of the sound drivers. From what I know, the HDA drivers currently don't support recording devices, which is what I believe these GStreamer drivers are for.

On the off-chance that the problem might be a library problem, I did a full reinstall of all my ports, and the problem still persisted. Disabling the sound card and reattempting the install doesn't help.

I was able to force gnome-media to install by selectively killing one of the two gst-inspect-0.10 processes, so the problem may be down to a race condition of some kind, but I'd no such luck doing the same when trying to install totem.
>How-To-Repeat:
Install gnome-media.
