does FreeBSD 3.5.1 support soundcards?

Hi,

I want really simple sampled-sound playback on my Dell Precision 340
running FreeBSD 3.5.1-RELEASE. It has builtin audio and three cheap
soundcards (Crystal 4CH, AudioExcel AV511, and Diamond DT-688). No luck
with pcm0 or snd0 with any of these cards. Any ideas?
