Great to see you wanting to get involved in FreeBSD. FWIW, we had a 16 yr. old
developer once, so perhaps you will break the record ;).

I would recommend starting with the ports tree (that’s how I got started):

You could probably start updating some port of interest. Updating something like
editors/calligra would be really nice ;).
