What do you see "remotely manage them" covering? For a small
heterogenous network, it's not clear what you would save over just
sticking the config files into CVS or similar.

Again, what do you mean by "share work"? Are you looking for
something like beowulf?
Please excuse any delays as the result of my ISP's inability to implement
an MTA that is either RFC2821-compliant or matches their claimed behaviour.
