wheel mouse doesn't work in 2.6.1

I just finished the upgrade to gnome 2.6.1 (whew) on FreeBSD 5.2.1
The mouse wheel does not work. I have tried imwheel also without  
success.

 5.2.1-RELEASE FreeBSD 5.2.1-RELEASE #0
