HAST + ZFS causes system to shutdown uncleanly?

If your goal is just to replicate your data to a test environment is  
there a reason you are not using ZFS send/receive over Ssh rather than  
HAST? It would be a simpler configuration, and therefore should be  
less error prone IMO.
